Homemade Oven Cleaner
This oven cleaner recipe is easy to make with ingredients you have in your pantry.
- Baking soda
- White or Apple Cider
- Dish soap (optional ) If you have extra grime , Dawn is Necessary.
- Cleaning rags or towels
You want to start with a cool oven. Clean out the large burnt food pieces from the bottom of your oven. I used an old plastic spatula.
Remove your oven rack’s. Place them in a large sink or bathtub, with boiling water, vinegar and baking soda. Let them soak for a while. Mine where really crusty 😛 So I let them soak for about an hour. Then use a Brillo Pad to remove grime 🙂
Sprinkle the Baking Soda all over your oven. Make sure to cover the door and glass as well. Apply liberally, you will want a nice coat. Next sprinkle your vinegar over the baking soda. ( It will start to fizz 😛 ) I filled up an old spray bottle with vinegar and sprayed over the entire oven. Let this mixture sit for at least an hour.
After your concoction has soaked use rags, brillo pads, crumpled up aluminum foil ( for vigorous scrubbing ) or sponges to clean your oven. Clean until your satisfied. Just remember its not gonna be perfect 😛 I was really happy with my end result. Cost me about 3$ for a clean , toxin-free oven cleaner.
